You've Been On My Mind

It could be the weather or the time of year
It's a feeling not easily defined
I'm not making too much sense so let me say it clear
You've been on my mind

You won't see too much difference from the outside looking in
The face is still weathered and lined
But there's a spring in my heal I'm stepping lightly on the ground
'Cause you've been on my mind

And the world keeps on turning, the days and nights roll by
And the seasons turn around in time
In the beat of a heart or the blink of an eye
You've been on my mind

The water might rise, and the wind freeze my bones
And the road turn hard as it unwinds
But I'm feeling safe and warm in my sweet baby's arms
'Cause you've been on my mind

And the world keeps on turning, the days and nights roll by
And the seasons turn around in time
In the beat of a heart or the blink of an eye
You've been on my mind

And when I stop to think about where I long to be
I feel the tug of ties that bind
And the call of home is whispering softly in my ear
'Cause you've been on my mind

And the world keeps on turning, the days and nights roll by
And the seasons turn around in time
In the beat of a heart or the blink of an eye
You've been on my mind

So there's a smile on my face today, a song in my heart
And the sun just can't help but shine
Time and distance are no fences anymore
'Cause you've been on my mind

And the world keeps on turning, the days and nights roll by
And the seasons turn around in time
In the beat of a heart or the blink of an eye
You've been on my mind
